1. When to change the battery?

It is time to change the battery when your IrisExplorer starts flashing.

When the IrisExplorer flashes, the battery in the lighting system begins to be too low to take correct pictures. There is a system that calculates the battery level to determine when lighting becomes less reliable.

At full power the LEDs in the IrisExplorer are designed to last 100 000 hours. In this application they don't run at full power so can be expected to last a fair bit longer. There is an automatic light-off feature after 10mins in case you forget to switch off the lights, so in the worst case scenario where you never switch it off manually you should be able to use it on more than 600 000 patients...

2. How to change the battery?

1. With the 2mm Allen wrench, unscrew the 2 small screws on the back.
2. Open it.
3. Unclip the used battery.
4. Replace it with a new battery.
5. Screw it back in :)
